OneCare Geelong is committed to continue to provide support and services for those that are disadvantaged in Geelong through the COVID-19 crisis.  Our current services have been impacted by grocercy shortages and a reduction in volunteers. As the COVID-19 crisis continues we ask for your support as we adapt our services to meet the needs of our community in these unprecented times.

COVID-19 COMMUNITY RESPONSE

One Care Geelong is committed to taking necessary precautions to ensure that our staff, volunteers and participants are safe and that OneCare Geelong is following necessary measures recommended by the Australian Government Department of Health and the World Health Organisation. If you are involved with OneCare as a volunteer, we are that you follow the recommendations below.

  • If you are unwell, experiencing symptoms of fever, sore throat, cough or difficulty breathing please see a Doctor immediately. Please do not attend the OneCare Geelong facility, instead please call so we can offer support options.
  • Avoid contact with a person while they are infections with COVID-19. If you have had contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the 24 hours before their symptoms appeared, please considering self-isolation.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

OneCare Geelong is following the Social Distancing Guidelines, and we ask all of our volunteers and supporters to do the same.

  • Regularly wash your hands, before and after eating and after going to the toilet
  • Cover your cough and sneezes, dispose of tissues and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
  • If unwell avoid physical contact with others, keeping a distance of 1.5 meters
  • Avoid hugging and shaking hands

In an event such as the COVID-19 outbreak disadvantaged communities can experience even further stress, and isolation.
