Chris has recently retired as the Business Manager of Christian College Geelong, and is now a Business Mentor and Coach. With an extensive background in accounting and management, Chris has a strong social justice worldview that has led him to use his own skills and abilities to partner with those who are disadvantaged. He believes that ‘it’s not about a hand out but a hand up’; and with a little bit of help most people can significantly improve their lives.
Mal has over 40 years experience in infrastructure development and funding, with a focus on customer engagement and business development. Mal is currently Investment Development Manager with AusNet, and is also the current chair of the Barrabool Christian Foundation which has a strong focus on sustainably providing funding for Australian and Overseas initiatives which support the disadvantaged. For more than a decade Mal has participated in development programs in Nairobi, Kenya, and is passionate about using his business skills to discover and facilitate projects which deliver meaningful change for those in need.
Stuart has been in strategic leadership positions for most of his working career. From managing large distribution companies, retail chains (in NZ) and over a decade working within the not-for-profit sector, Stuart brings significant experience to the OneCare Board. Currently a Director of his own business, Stuart continues to take an active role in a number of NFP organisations focussed on supporting and empowering the disadvantaged in our city. Stuart has a passion to serve in the community recognising that we all must play our part if we are to see change.
Matt Jacoby is the Senior Pastor of OneHope Baptist Church having been part of the pastoral team of the church for the past 20 years. He is also lecturer in Christian Thought at the Melbourne School of Theology. Matt has a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne and has published various books and articles both in the academic and pastoral spaces. Matt is passionate about seeing the Christian church making an impact in the area of community development.
Erin has extensive experience as a lawyer, specialising mainly in Government & Administrative Law, Information Law and Privacy. She has worked both in private practice and in-house for government, and is currently a Senior Lawyer for a Commonwealth Government Agency. Erin has always been drawn to working for government clients because she believes in the value of acting for the greater good and serving the broader public through her work. Erin is committed to serving the community, in a professional and personal capacity. She considers it an honour to contribute to the governance of OneCare, which plays such a valuable role in addressing disadvantage within the Geelong region.
Andrew started his working life in the Banking Industry before joining Local Government. He has held different roles with the City of Greater Geelong for the past 25 years. Andrew has a passion to serve in the community both professionally and personally. He has served in various roles including Disability Advisory Committee, Homeless Action group, Community Project Control Groups and local school and sporting club committees. Andrew says it is important to see everyone connected and participating in Community life.
